2015 Purbeck Rally
The WVPC had its usual club stand for this 3 day event and the stand was well attended on all 3 days with a good selection of cars and bikes on display which atrracted a lot of attention from the large attendance by the public this year
This years show was a vast improvement on previous events with a much larger selection of stalls and other items of interest, the centre arena displays were almost continuous throughout the days
As is now a regular occurance the Club held its fish & chip supper on the showground provided by an on site caterer with most diners feeling this years offering was better than last years, the club provided apple pies & cream for sweet together with lemonade
The weather was changeable over the 3 days but the rain held off for most of the time

2015 Breamore House Classic Car Show
This years show was blessed with wonderful weather and we had a good selection of cars opn the stand from a very modern Maxda to a nice old Humber, all together 14 cars in total.
Now on to the important bit " The Prizes" we were lucky in this respect with long standing member Alan Hammerton who won Best 1960's car with his Ford Anglia Super, also a prize winner was one of our Bikers Bill Willett who won Bike of The Show with his 1961 Triumph Bonneville
Its good to see the prizes going to both sections of the club so well done to Alan & Bill
Finnally i would like to thank all of the members who took the time to support the club

2015 Quay to Quay run ( national Drive it Day )
This years run started as usual from the ferry terminal on Poole Quay with a good selection of club vehicles in attendance, the weather was good so we all set off for a romp araound the New Forest on a route new to many members a stop over was scheduled and all the cars arrived safely
After a short break the run re commenced and again the route was new to many, a slight diversion was required due to a recent road closure but members found their way to Christchurch Quay a new finishing point this year due to Weymouth Borough Council's decision to charge for events finishing in the town, a decision many local car clubs feel is a great loss to the towns attractions
We were made most welcome at this new venue and indeed the parking arrangements for our run was excelent and well organised so i am sure we will be returning next year

Cars & Bikes in the field 2015
The annual club event of "cars & bikes in the field " was held on the June club night, there was a good turnout of cars but the number of bikes was a bit of a let-down compared to other years. around 30 cars attended and 6 bikes did make an interesting display with members voting for their choices of car and bike they thougt were the best on the night.
The winning car was a 1936 Austin 7 van which had a convincing win and the proud owner was Richard Brown who appeared surprised to win the spoils
The bike that won was also a rare specimen and it was a Brough Superior SS80, unfortuantly the owner Peter Miller could not stay to pick up his prize due to the lights on the bike not being too good for night riding.
Congratulations to both winners whose prizes as allways were suppird by club stalwarts Lin & Alan Hammerton whome we thank very much

The Bristol Classic Car Show 2015
Having missed last years show The club had a stand this year comprising iof the usual 3 cars
Renault Alpine GTA V6 - Dennis Stranack
Ford Capri V6 Terry Kingston
Humber Hawk - Steve Brown
Thanks go to Lynn & Alan for making all the arrangements and providing the refresments and to Peter & Dee for manning the stand on Saturday
We all arrived on the Friday to get the stand set up and encountered a little raim just before Shepton so a quick clean was necessary
As usual there was interest in the stand and the wide variaty of our cars thus making the journey and effort worth while, this year we had a mixed display of cars from different years and styles and this did seem to enhanch the stand and show that the WVPC is indeed a multy classic car car club
In addition to the usual classic car club displays, at this years show there was a display of ex F1 cars and on display were
Nigel Mansel's Renault Williams
Jackie Stewerts Tyrell Ford
And a classic BRM
The Tyrell and the BRM arrived in their original transporters and showed just how simple FI was in the old days
There did seem to be a lot less visitors this year so getting around was a lot easier but having said that this was still a good show
Why not let Lynn know well in advance if you want to display your classic at next years show
Dennis
The Bristol Classic Car Show 2012
Once again the club had a small stand at this show held on 21st & 22 April 2012, the theme this year wa small commercial vehicles and on display was a Morris / Austin van and a very rare commer express delivery van, there are reputed to be only two of these vehicles on the road in the country
There was a lot of interest shown in both vehicles and we got a mention in Classic Car Weekly on April 25th, the Commer van won first prize for the best light commercial vehicle so well done to owners Paul & Margaret Edwards

The 2013 Quay to Quay Run
The clubs annual Quay to Quay run was well attended by both members and guest and despite a showery day and a road on the planned route being closed all drivers made it to Weymouth via different routes where a good display of vehicles of all ages was laid on for all to see
We were pleased to have the Mayor of Weymouth visit to hand out finishing rosettes and it was obvious she was pleased to again have a visit by the WVPC.
Cars began to leave around 3.30pm and all in all a good day was had by all with the added attraction of the opportunity to do some shopping in Weymouth
Hope to see you next year
